Typical Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate waterjet cutting machines to produce precision parts for sheet metal, conveyor systems, structural components, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and automation systems.
- Read and interpret complex technical drawings and specifications to accurately execute cutting operations.
- Select appropriate cutting parameters based on material type and thickness to ensure optimal cutting performance and material utilization.
- Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting of waterjet machines to minimize downtime and maintain high efficiency.
- Collaborate with the engineering and design teams to refine product designs for manufacturability.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
- Monitor the quality of finished parts, performing adjustments as necessary to meet high-quality standards.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Technical certification or training in waterjet operation, machining, or a related field is preferred.
Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience operating waterjet cutting machines in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
- Solid understanding of waterjet cutting principles, machine maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Experience working with a variety of materials, including metals, plastics, and composites.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with CAD/CAM software specifically related to waterjet programming.
- Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles and practices.
