Typical Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operate a variety of machines, including 3D printers and additive manufacturing machines, to produce precision components for the electronics and technology sectors.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and detailed drawings to accurately set up and execute manufacturing processes.
  • Apply knowledge of materials commonly used in the electronics, semiconductor, and tech industries, such as plastics, metals, and advanced composites, to optimize machining and additive manufacturing parameters.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with machinery and manufacturing processes to minimize downtime and ensure product quality.
  • Collaborate with the engineering and quality assurance teams to ensure that manufactured components meet or exceed all specifications and quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of manufacturing processes, including adjustments made, materials used, and final inspection results.
  • Stay current with the latest manufacturing technologies and techniques related to 3D printing and additive manufacturing, to continually improve efficiency and quality.

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Technical certification or associate degree in machining, manufacturing technology, additive manufacturing, or a related field preferred.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 5-7 years of experience working as a machinist in the manufacturing sector, specifically producing components for the electronics, semiconductor, consumer devices, or technology industries.
  • Proficiency in operating 3D printers and additive manufacturing machines.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting skills with the ability to quickly identify and address manufacturing issues.
  • Familiarity with the materials commonly used in the tech manufacturing sector and best practices for their processing.
  • Solid understanding of quality control processes and standards relevant to high-precision manufacturing.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with CAD/CAM software for design and manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 or other quality management systems relevant to the technology manufacturing industry.
  • Proven track record of process improvement in a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
