Typical Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design, fabricate, and repair precision molds for the production of consumer electronics and medical devices.
  • Collaborate with engineering and design teams to develop mold specifications and ensure compatibility with product requirements.
  • Operate CNC machines, EDM machines, and other toolroom equipment to create and modify molds.
  • Conduct thorough inspections and tests of molds to ensure quality and functionality.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to mold performance and production efficiency.
  • Maintain detailed records of mold maintenance, modifications, and performance.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to production teams during the molding process.
  • Implement continuous improvement strategies to enhance mold design and fabrication processes.


  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Technical certification or associate degree in tool and die making, mold making, or a related field is preferred.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 7+ years of experience as a Mold Maker in the consumer electronics and/or medical industries.
  • Proficient in the use of CNC machines, EDM machines, and other toolroom equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of mold design principles, materials, and fabrication techniques.
  • Ability to interpret complex technical drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with CAD/CAM software for mold design and programming.
  • Familiarity with ISO 13485 and other relevant quality standards in the medical device industry.
  • Proven track record of implementing process improvements and cost-saving measures.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
