We are an aerospace and defense technical recruitment firm in search of a Mill Operator for our client. Typical Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain 5-Axis Machining Centers or CNC Milling Machines with precision and efficiency.
  • Interpret technical drawings and specifications to accurately machine aerospace components.
  • Perform setup and calibration procedures for milling equipment.
  • Select appropriate tools, fixtures, and settings for each machining operation.
  • Monitor and adjust machine parameters to ensure optimal performance and quality.
  • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of milling machines to prevent downtime.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to troubleshoot and resolve machining issues.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment in compliance with company and industry standards.

Education

  • Technical certification or associate degree in machining, manufacturing technology, or a related field is preferred.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 2-5 years of experience as a Mill Operator in the aerospace and defense industry.
  • Proficient in operating 5-Axis Machining Centers or CNC Milling Machines.
  • Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling, and fixture design.
  • Experience working with a wide variety of materials used in aerospace products, including Aluminum Alloys, Titanium Alloys, Composite Materials, and Steel Alloys.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with CAD/CAM software for programming and simulation.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
