Typical Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC lathes, engine lathes, or Swiss lathes to produce precision parts for the oil and gas industry.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the best machining process, tools, and materials required for each job.
  • Perform tooling selection and setup for optimal machining efficiency and quality.
  • Adjust machine settings to control speed, material feed, and path of the cut, ensuring compliance with all safety and operational standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of machinery to ensure proper functionality and longevity.
  • Collaborate with the engineering and quality assurance teams to ensure products meet all specifications and quality requirements.
  • Document machining operations and quality assurance measures for process optimization and compliance purposes.

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Technical certification or associate degree in machining, manufacturing technology, or a related field is preferred.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years of machining experience in the oil and gas industry.
  • Proficient in operating CNC lathes, engine lathes, and Swiss lathes.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
  • Extensive experience in tooling selection and setup for various machining operations.
  • Knowledge of industry-standard safety practices and quality control processes.
  • Demonstrated precision and attention to detail in producing high-quality components.
