Typical Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate CNC lathes, engine lathes, or Swiss lathes to produce precision parts for the oil and gas industry.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the best machining process, tools, and materials required for each job.
- Perform tooling selection and setup for optimal machining efficiency and quality.
- Adjust machine settings to control speed, material feed, and path of the cut, ensuring compliance with all safety and operational standards.
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of machinery to ensure proper functionality and longevity.
- Collaborate with the engineering and quality assurance teams to ensure products meet all specifications and quality requirements.
- Document machining operations and quality assurance measures for process optimization and compliance purposes.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical certification or associate degree in machining, manufacturing technology, or a related field is preferred.
Required Skills and Experience
- 5+ years of machining experience in the oil and gas industry.
- Proficient in operating CNC lathes, engine lathes, and Swiss lathes.
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Extensive experience in tooling selection and setup for various machining operations.
- Knowledge of industry-standard safety practices and quality control processes.
- Demonstrated precision and attention to detail in producing high-quality components.
