Typical Duties and Responsibilities
- Engineering Design: Design and develop wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, pipelines, and other infrastructure projects.
- Technical Expertise: Apply your strong technical background to provide expertise in water treatment, wastewater treatment, pump stations, pipelines, conveyance, gravity sewer design, and water distribution systems.
- Software Proficiency: Utilize Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, MicroStation, and hydraulic modeling software to perform design calculations, create detailed drawings, and analyze hydraulic systems.
- Project Engineering: Take a lead role in project engineering, overseeing the design process, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring project deliverables are met on time and within budget.
- Project Management: Demonstrate project management skills to effectively plan, organize, and execute engineering projects, including budget management, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all design solutions comply with relevant regulatory standards, codes, and guidelines governing wastewater and water infrastructure projects.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
Required Skills and Experience
- 7-10 years of experience in engineering design, with a focus on wastewater treatment, water treatment, pump stations, pipelines, and conveyance systems.
- Strong technical background and expertise in one or more of the specified categories.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, MicroStation, and hydraulic modeling software.
- Experience in project engineering and project management, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource management.
- Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- Previous experience working in a consulting engineering firm or similar environment.
- Familiarity with sustainable design principles and practices in wastewater and water infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of environmental regulations and permitting processes.
