Typical Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct geotechnical investigations and analyses for a variety of projects including hydraulic structures, building construction, and municipal infrastructures.
  • Utilize advanced software tools such as AutoCAD, PLAXIS, GEO5, Civil 3D, and SeisEarth for design, analysis, and simulation purposes.
  • Develop design recommendations for foundations, retaining structures, and other geotechnical aspects of construction.
  • Prepare and review geotechnical reports and documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate geotechnical design with overall project objectives.
  • Stay abreast of technological advancements and best practices in geotechnical engineering.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience with 7+ years in geotechnical engineering, preferably in hydraulic engineering, building construction, or municipal projects.
  • Proficiency in using geotechnical engineering software, specifically AutoCAD, PLAXIS, GEO5, Civil 3D, and SeisEarth.
  • Strong foundation in soil mechanics, rock mechanics, and foundation engineering.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent.
  • Experience in project management and team leadership.
  • Advanced degree in Geotechnical Engineering.
  • Published research or presentations in the field of geotechnical engineering.
