Typical Duties and Responsibilities
- Project Planning: Lead the planning phase of diverse projects, coordinating with state and local agencies to define project scopes, objectives, and deliverables.
- Design Oversight: Manage the design process for roadway, bridge, airport, and stormwater infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client expectations.
- Construction Management: Oversee construction activities, coordinating with contractors, suppliers, and engineering teams to ensure the successful execution of projects.
- Airfield Expertise: Bring specialized experience in airport and airfield design, providing valuable insights into aviation-related projects.
- Grading and Drainage: Direct grading and drainage efforts, optimizing land use while ensuring effective stormwater management and detention solutions.
- Client Collaboration: Foster strong relationships with state and local agencies, municipalities, and clients, acting as the primary point of contact for project updates and addressing concerns.
- Resource Allocation: Efficiently allocate resources, manage project budgets, and ensure timelines are met throughout the project lifecycle.
- Quality Assurance: Implement quality assurance measures, conducting regular assessments to guarantee adherence to design specifications and industry standards
Education
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
Required Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in project management within the planning, design, and construction of infrastructure projects.
- Expertise in airports, airfield design, grading, drainage, and stormwater management.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite, AutoCAD, or Microstation.
- Familiarity with Civil 3D; experience with GEO software is highly desirable.
- Exceptional organizational and leadership skills.
- Strong communication abilities to convey complex technical information to diverse stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- Experience with Civil 3D and GEO software.
- Previous involvement in projects with state and local agencies.
- Knowledge of environmental regulations and permitting processes.
