Typical Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct geotechnical investigations and analyses for a variety of projects including hydraulic structures, building construction, and municipal infrastructures.
- Utilize advanced software tools such as AutoCAD, PLAXIS, GEO5, Civil 3D, and SeisEarth for design, analysis, and simulation purposes.
- Develop design recommendations for foundations, retaining structures, and other geotechnical aspects of construction.
- Prepare and review geotechnical reports and documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate geotechnical design with overall project objectives.
- Stay abreast of technological advancements and best practices in geotechnical engineering.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
Required Skills and Experience
- Proven experience with 7+ years in geotechnical engineering, preferably in hydraulic engineering, building construction, or municipal projects.
- Proficiency in using geotechnical engineering software, specifically AutoCAD, PLAXIS, GEO5, Civil 3D, and SeisEarth.
- Strong foundation in soil mechanics, rock mechanics, and foundation engineering.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent.
- Experience in project management and team leadership.
- Advanced degree in Geotechnical Engineering.
- Published research or presentations in the field of geotechnical engineering.
