Typical Duties and Responsibilities
- Versatile Structural Design: Harness your expertise to design and draft structural elements for diverse projects including commercial spaces (offices, retail, malls, hotels), institutional buildings (hospitals, schools), industrial facilities (factories, warehouses), and stadiums/sports complexes.
- AutoCAD and Revit Proficiency: Utilize your advanced skills in AutoCAD and Revit to translate conceptual designs into detailed, precise, and accurate structural drawings.
- Collaborative Project Development: Work closely with cross-functional teams, architects, and engineers to develop and refine structural designs that meet project requirements and industry standards.
- Code Compliance: Ensure that all structural designs adhere to local building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Detail-Oriented Drafting: Create comprehensive structural drawings, including plans, elevations, and sections, with a meticulous focus on accuracy and detail.
- Problem-Solving: Engage in collaborative problem-solving sessions, addressing challenges and optimizing structural designs for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
Required Skills and Experience
- 5 + years of proven experience as a Structural Designer/Drafter, with a portfolio showcasing diverse projects in commercial, institutional, industrial, and sports facility sectors.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit for drafting and designing structural elements.
- Strong understanding of structural engineering principles, codes, and standards.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.
- Detail-oriented approach to drafting and design, ensuring accuracy in every aspect of the project.
- Excellent communication skills to convey complex structural concepts to team members and stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Structural Engineering.
- Previous experience working on stadiums, sports complexes, or other large-scale facilities.
- Familiarity with additional software tools relevant to structural design (e.g., SAP2000, ETABS).
- Experience in designing structures with sustainable and environmentally friendly considerations.
- Knowledge of BIM (Building Information Modeling) processes and applications.
