We are a design and engineering staffing agency with a specialty in recruiting Instrumentation and Controls Engineers. We are currently seeking an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer for our client that found its niche in delivering innovative solutions for Commercial, Healthcare, Education, Mixed-use & Multi-family, Industrial, and Government/Municipal projects.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop control systems engineering solutions for various projects, including process control strategy planning and automation designs.
  • Provide construction support services, ensuring that projects are implemented according to design specifications.
  • Conduct planning studies with detailed analyses and designs related to water and wastewater treatment plants and pumping stations.
  • Assist with equipment selections, equipment and communication network layouts, and process control design coordination with other engineering disciplines.
  • Plan, design, program, and upgrade PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems.
  • Mentor junior staff and collaborate with disparately located project team members.
  • Work on multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and deliverables are met.

Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Chemical Engineering is required.
  • Master’s degree preferred.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in instrumentation and controls.
  • Experience in control systems engineering, process control strategy planning, and automation designs.
  • Knowledge of construction support services and planning studies for water and wastewater treatment plants and pumping stations.
  • Experience with equipment selections, equipment and communication network layouts, and process control design coordination.
  • Proficiency in PLC, HMI, and SCADA system planning, design, programming, and upgrade.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PE license in Control Systems or Electrical Engineering in the State of California OR the ability to obtain reciprocity OR the ability to obtain within 18 months of hire date.
