We are a design and engineering staffing agency with a specialty in HVAC Engineer recruitment. We are currently recruiting an HVAC Engineer for our client, a leading engineering firm specializing in Commercial, Healthcare, Education, Mixed-use & Multi-family, Industrial, and Government/Municipal projects.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performing engineering tasks for each project, including schematic design and design development (per standard AIA conventions).
  • Interfacing with clients to develop project scope and preparing project estimates for proposals.
  • Collaborating with production and engineering teams to prepare design development and construction documents.
  • Processing construction administration documentation in collaboration with production teams.
  • Applying relevant code knowledge to system design and layout.
  • Working with engineering, sales, and project management staff to develop mechanical and plumbing construction documents, and energy compliance documents.

Education

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 7+ years of HVAC and plumbing systems design-build experience and industry knowledge in Commercial, Healthcare, Education, Mixed-use & Multi-family, Industrial, and Government/Municipal projects.
  • Working knowledge of current Building/Mechanical/Plumbing codes/standards for building projects within the state of California, including California Plumbing Code, California Mechanical Code, CALGreen Code, and California Energy Code.
  • 7+ years of AutoCAD experience required.
  • Software skills: Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent time management and project prioritization.

Preferred Qualifications

  • DSA & OSHPD experience is a significant plus.
  • Training in BIM preferred but not required; Revit MEP strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work with different personalities and varying levels of professional experience.
  • Experience working with vendors for equipment selections and applications.
