We are an engineering and technical staffing agency specialized in recruiting Field Service Engineers and Technicians. We are currently seeking a Field Service Engineer for our client, a leading provider of automation solutions for various industries, including manufacturing, food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, and more. This company specializes in industrial automation, process control, and system integration, helping businesses improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance productivity through the implementation of advanced automation technologies.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design, upgrade, and troubleshoot new and existing PLC control systems in accordance with company guidelines, both at our Denver facility and in the field.
  • Travel to customer sites for commissioning systems and providing hands-on support.
  • Deliver training to customers on system efficiency and operation.
  • Program and troubleshoot robots from brands like Kawasaki, Kuka, and Fanuc.
  • Collaborate with the engineering department to understand complex automation lines and integrate control packages.
  • Develop and upgrade HMI applications, including Allen Bradley and Proface touch screens, based on company guidelines and customer needs.
  • Test systems at the Denver facility and prepare them for shipping to customer sites.
  • Conduct mechanical and electrical fieldwork and troubleshooting.
  • Manage time and costs effectively based on project schedules and budgets.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Robotics, or a related field is preferred.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in Controls, Systems Engineering, Mechanical/Electrical roles, or Robotics.
  • Proficiency in modifying/building Ladder Logic programs from Compact Logix, RSLogix, and Siemens controls.
  • Strong customer focus and ability to work in challenging environments to troubleshoot field issues.
  • Knowledge of Allen Bradley PLCs, including ControlLogix, CompactLogix, PlantPAx, PLC 5, MicroLogix, SLC 500, RS Logix, Studio 5000, and Studio Designer.
  • Experience with Siemens PLCs, including TIA Portal v12/13/14, Step 7, S7-1500, S7-1200, S7-300, and S7-400.
  • Proficiency in HMI programming and operations, including Proface, Allen Bradley FactoryTalk View Studio, RS View, PanelBuilder, and Siemens ProTool.
  • Familiarity with variable frequency drives and servos, such as Allen Bradley Powerflex, SEW Eurodrive, and Yaskawa SGDV/SGDH.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Robot programming experience with Kawasaki, Kuka, or Fanuc.
  • Experience with Secure Boot, High Assurance Boot, Key and Certificate Management.
  • Knowledge of test and diagnostic equipment such as spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, etc.
  • Familiarity with simple soldering and electrical diagnostics.
  • Experience with RF, analog, digital circuits, and logic systems.
  • Ability to analyze and solve complex software engineering problems.
  • Willingness to travel up to 40% of the time.
  • Ability to acquire a passport if required.
