Typical Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead the research and development of electrical and software systems for spacecraft, including satellites, space probes, and manned spacecraft.
  • Design, develop, and test electrical systems, avionics, and software algorithms for space applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate electrical and software systems into spacecraft designs.
  • Conduct simulations and analyses to evaluate system performance and reliability under various space conditions.
  • Oversee the implementation of advanced technologies in spacecraft systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance in electrical and software engineering aspects of aerospace projects.
  • Stay abreast of the latest advancements in aerospace technology and incorporate innovative solutions into spacecraft designs.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field required.
  • Master’s degree or Ph.D. in a relevant field is highly preferred.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in aerospace engineering, with a strong focus on electrical and software systems.
  • Proven track record in the research and development of spacecraft systems.
  • Extensive knowledge of electrical engineering principles, avionics systems, and software development for aerospace applications.
  • Proficiency in simulation and analysis tools for aerospace engineering.
  • Strong project management skills and experience leading technical teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with the design and development of satellite communication systems or space probes.
  • Familiarity with space environment testing and validation procedures.
  • Expertise in programming languages commonly used in aerospace engineering, such as C++, Python, LabVIEW or MATLAB/Simulink.
  • Experience with SPICE, Altium, Cadence ORCAD or Eagle is highly desirable.
  • Active participation in professional aerospace engineering organizations or societies.
