Typical Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform troubleshooting, repairs, and routine maintenance on a wide range of industrial machinery, equipment, and systems, including HVAC/R, electrical systems, and building maintenance tasks.
- Diagnose mechanical issues with various types of machinery and equipment, such as motors, pumps, compressors, conveyors, valves, and production machinery, and perform necessary repairs.
- Conduct preventive maintenance to ensure equipment and systems operate efficiently and to reduce the need for emergency repairs.
- Monitor and adjust HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency.
- Manage electrical maintenance tasks, including wiring, circuit breaker testing, and electrical equipment installation and repair.
- Collaborate with the manufacturing team to improve machine reliability and performance, reduce downtime, and enhance safety.
- Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, parts used, and other relevant data.
- Stay current with the latest maintenance technologies and practices, and comply with all safety and environmental regulations.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical certification or associate degree in industrial maintenance, HVAC/R, electrical technology, mechanical engineering, or a related field preferred.
Required Skills and Experience
- 7+ years of experience in maintenance within industrial manufacturing environments.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain a wide range of industrial machinery, equipment, and systems.
- In-depth knowledge of HVAC/R systems, electrical systems, and general building maintenance.
- Strong mechanical skills related to the maintenance and repair of various types of machinery and equipment.
- Familiarity with mechanical systems, including motors, pumps, compressors, conveyors, valves, and production machinery.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics and blueprints.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with PLCs and automated control systems.
- Certification in HVAC/R, electrical maintenance, or industrial maintenance technology.
- Knowledge of energy management and efficiency practices.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively document and convey maintenance needs and actions taken.
