Software and IT recruitment is our specialty. Our client has asked us to help them recruit and IT Specialist for their team. They specialize in developing cutting-edge robotic systems used in surgical procedures, patient care, and medical research. Their mission is to revolutionize the healthcare industry by integrating AI-driven automation, precision robotics, and advanced IT infrastructure to improve patient outcomes.

They are seeking an experienced IT Specialist (5-7 years of experience) to support and enhance their IT systems, cybersecurity, and network infrastructure. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, highly innovative environment where technology meets healthcare.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

As an IT Specialist, you will play a critical role in maintaining and optimizing the company’s IT infrastructure, ensuring seamless network connectivity, security compliance, and system performance. Your responsibilities include:

IT Infrastructure & Systems Administration

  • Manage and maintain Windows and Linux servers, workstations, and cloud-based infrastructure (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Support enterprise software applications, including ERP (SAP, NetSuite, or Microsoft Dynamics) and PLM (Siemens Teamcenter, PTC Windchill, or Arena PLM).
  • Implement and manage Active Directory (AD), Group Policy (GPO), SSO, and MFA authentication for secure access.
  • Perform system upgrades, patches, and backups to ensure operational efficiency and security.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, providing Tier 1 & Tier 2 support for employees.

Cybersecurity & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, FDA, and ISO 13485 standards for medical device security and data protection.
  • Implement NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF), SOC 2, and ITAR compliance for handling sensitive healthcare data.
  • Manage endpoint security, firewalls, SIEM solutions (Splunk, Sentinel), and anti-virus protections to prevent cyber threats.
  • Conduct regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Develop disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity plans (BCP) for critical IT operations.

Network & Cloud Infrastructure Management

  • Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot Cisco, Palo Alto, and Fortinet firewalls and switches.
  • Support hybrid cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) with networking, security, and resource management.
  • Optimize VPN, VLAN, SD-WAN, and VoIP solutions to ensure seamless remote connectivity.
  • Implement IoT and edge computing solutions for real-time robotics data processing.

IT Support & User Training

  • Provide technical support to engineers, developers, and manufacturing teams, ensuring seamless collaboration between IT and R&D teams.
  • Create documentation, user guides, and training materials for employees on IT best practices.
  • Assist in software licensing, procurement, and vendor management to support business operations.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Cisco CCNA, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, or AWS Certified Solutions Architect are highly desirable.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 5-7 years of experience in IT systems administration, network management, and cybersecurity.
  • Hands-on experience with Windows Server, Linux (Ubuntu, Red Hat), and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and authentication protocols (LDAP, SAML, OAuth).
  • Experience with firewalls, VPNs, and network security appliances (Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet).
  • Familiarity with ERP, PLM, and MES software used in medical device manufacturing.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to support robotics engineers and R&D teams in an IT-driven production environment.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, FDA, and ISO 13485 regulations related to healthcare IT compliance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, IT Management, or a related field.
  • Experience with DevOps tools (Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible) for cloud automation.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML-driven IT security solutions and IoT connectivity for robotic systems.
  • Knowledge of 5G, industrial automation networks, and real-time computing for robotics.
  • Experience working in a medical device, healthcare technology, or biotech environment.
