Our client is a leading space and defense company that has asked us to help them locate a Digital Design Engineer for their team that is developing advanced missile systems. Typical Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead the research, design, and development of digital designs for advanced missile systems.
- Develop and implement digital FPGA hardware architecture and algorithms.
- Utilize VHDL for designing and verifying digital circuits.
- Work with AMD/Xilinx 7 series (Zynq, Kintex, and Ultrascale) for FPGA development.
- Use Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools such as Vivado and QuestaSim for design and simulation.
- Design and develop multi-function software-defined radios and automated test equipment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate digital designs into overall missile system architecture.
- Perform troubleshooting, testing, and validation of digital designs to ensure high performance and reliability.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in digital design and missile technology.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
- Master’s or Ph.D. in a relevant discipline is preferred.
Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum of 10 years of experience as a digital design engineer.
- Hands-on experience in VHDL for digital circuit design.
- Proficiency with AMD/Xilinx 7 series (Zynq, Kintex, and Ultrascale) for FPGA development.
- Experience with Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools such as Vivado and QuestaSim.
- Experience with programs like Keil MDK and IAR Embedded Workbench.
- Strong background in firmware design and development.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the space and defense industries.
- Familiarity with regulatory standards and compliance in defense technology such as International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Department of Defense (DoD) Regulations, MIL-SPECs (Military Specifications) and AS9100
- Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor junior engineers.
- Publications or patents in relevant fields are a plus.
