Job Profile: CHEM Group Technical Sales Engineer

Chem Group Services is a technology based on / off site service provider by sustainability renewing chemicals used in the oil and gas, syngas and carbon capture industries. Our Services was recently merged with CHEM Group and thereby has become the clear market leader in gas treating chemical hygiene and sustainability. We provide customized purification and recovery programs that that sustainably renew chemicals to stabilize and protect customer assets with gainful, reliable and safe solutions. Our success comes from finding unique ways to recycle and repurpose chemicals, utilizing our proprietary ion exchange and distillation technology to help companies meet corporate sustainability goals by reprocessing and repurposing chemicals that would otherwise be disposed of by landfill, burning or similar disposal methods. Chem Group Services customers save money versus the purchase of new chemicals and on the disposal of depleted chemicals.

Role Description:

Primary accountability is to use extensive knowledge of a technical product’s features and operations to sell and provide excellent customer support for these products/services; serving a series of Accounts in our company and identifying their service needs; engineering adaptations of products, equipment and services. Focus is on improving the sales volume and profitability of on site and off site chemical processing as well as permanent unit leasing, through developing key relationships and knowledge of client operating structures and decision making processes.

Key accountabilities:

  • Establishing new and enhancing existing business relationships to identify and capture opportunities related to the gas treating chemical renewal business, including technical services and specialty product sales across a wide array of industrial processes.

Capturing sufficient profitable business to meet or exceed the budgeted utilization levels, revenues and profits for the mobile unit services, permanent unit leases and off-site chemical processing via vacuum distillation.

Developing strategies and tactics to execute the business plan to sell sustainability and chemical maintenance programs to the end users.

Utilizing technical know-how and experience for technical trouble-shooting and project development with customers.

Maintaining and developing new strategic alliances with customers and industry players.

Developing and maintaining specific sales & marketing tools such as customer database, contact lists, technical bulletins, sales presentations, and strategic selling maps.

Organizing and preparing proposals and bids for the provision of product sales and technical services.

Ongoing client management including feedback and performance of existing contracts.

Preparing monthly reports showing performance against agreed upon objectives.

Abide by the principles in the EHS&S mission statement.

Key knowledge, Skills and Behaviors:

A degree in Engineering and/or 5 years related process engineering experience

Technical sales experience is required

Self-starter capable of working effectively in a remote setting

True Hunter mentality with demonstratable ability to harvest new business

Three years of amine or gas treating experience is preferable

Refining, Ammonia plant, natural gas processing and syngas production experience is a plus

Strong affinity with and access to Engineering companies is a plus

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills / Consultative selling

Excellence in written and verbal communication skills

Willingness to travel and work in a team environment.

Comfort working in both plant and corporate office environments.

Knowledgeable in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
