Title: Sr. Mechatronic Systems Engineer (Electro-mechanical)

Location: North San Jose, Ca. (Onsite)

Employment Type: Direct Hire | Full Benefits | Avionics Integration Department

Comp: $100k -$190k /yr.

About the Company

Join a well-funded, stealth-mode aerospace venture developing revolutionary electric aircraft systems aimed at reshaping the future of personal mobility. Our team is comprised of leading engineers, program managers, and former test pilots from top aerospace organizations. We’re entering a critical phase of flight test expansion and seek driven engineering professionals who are eager to help validate and refine next-generation airborne platforms.

About the Role:

The Mechanical Integration Division at our pioneering electric aerial systems client is in search of an accomplished and driven Senior Mechatronic Systems Engineer, someone with a strong Electro-mechanical background in harness design and LRU enclosures/packaging . You would essentially act as the principal authority for the creation and advancement of onboard power distribution networks and electronic module housings—directly influencing the success of our breakthrough electrical aircraft.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Act as the organization’s lead advisor in the architecture, refinement, and enhancement of the aircraft’s wiring infrastructure and embedded electronics compartments.
  • Spearhead the planning and execution of the complete electrical routing architecture across the craft, balancing high performance, minimal mass, and strict compliance with relevant guidelines and regulatory benchmarks.
  • Conceptualize and engineer protective enclosures for onboard electronics, with a focus on mechanical robustness, ease of fabrication, and sophisticated heat dissipation methodologies.
  • Partner with multidisciplinary groups to seamlessly merge mechanical and electrical components, guaranteeing subsystem compatibility and overall operational dependability.
  • Drive feasibility evaluations and in-depth simulations covering electrical throughput, heat dissipation, and mechanical stress scenarios for all module housings.
  • Employ advanced digital modeling platforms to craft precise digital prototypes, produce fabrication-ready schematics, and validate design efficacy through simulation.
  • Collaborate directly with external component vendors and fabrication allies to establish requirements, procure critical materials, and supervise manufacturing workflows to meet quality and delivery targets.
  • Engage in full-scale system assessments and real-world trials, reviewing empirical results to refine designs for improved resilience, safety, and functionality.
  • Continuously monitor emerging methods, technologies, and material innovations in both electrical and mechanical engineering to promote cutting-edge improvements within the team.
  • Define and advance internal development protocols, including design guidelines and documentation practices, to streamline workflows related to wiring frameworks and protective casings.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience crafting electrical routing systems and protective electronic housings, ideally within advanced transportation sectors such as aerospace or automotive.
  • Demonstrated expertise in CATIA, particularly with digital tools focused on wire routing and protective housing modeling.
  • Solid grasp of electrical subsystems, advanced cooling techniques, and modern materials used in housing assemblies and wiring networks.
  • Proficiency in simulation platforms for thermal behavior and structural integrity assessments—such as ANSYS or comparable software suites.
  • Exceptional analytical abilities with a proven track record of generating innovative solutions under demanding project conditions.
