Compensation: $45-$55/hr.

Shift: 1 st & 3 rd , M-F

Company Summary:

Based in Southern California, our AS9100 & ITAR-registered turnkey manufacturing client is has a decades‐long legacy of delivering precision-engineered solutions across aerospace, defense, and other highly regulated sectors. Operating from a robust facility spanning over 100,000 sq ft, the company integrates advanced tooling, 5‐axis CNC milling and turning, finishing, and assembly—all performed under one roof.

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer with advanced multi-axis machining expertise to support the development of high-precision components for the aerospace and defense sector. This role requires mastery of CAD/CAM programming (with emphasis on Mastercam), an ability to translate complex models into efficient machining processes, and a strong foundation in aerospace manufacturing standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create, edit, and optimize CNC programs for complex 3-, 4-, and true 5-axis milling operations using Mastercam and other CAD/CAM platforms (NX, CATIA, SolidWorks, etc.).
  • Develop machining strategies for tight-tolerance aerospace parts, ensuring conformance with engineering specs and customer requirements.
  • Generate toolpaths, setup sheets, and process documentation for multi-axis mills and supporting equipment.
  • Interpret 3D CAD models, blueprints, and GD&T to identify machining features and requirements.
  • Work alongside engineers, machinists, and quality teams to resolve technical challenges and improve manufacturability.
  • Select tooling, fixtures, and machining parameters to maximize efficiency while protecting part integrity.
  • Conduct prove-outs, test runs, and program adjustments to validate accuracy before full production release.
  • Collaborate with inspection teams to verify that parts meet AS9100/aerospace standards through in-process and final measurement.
  • Continuously improve programming methods to reduce cycle times, tool wear, and overall manufacturing costs.
  • Maintain clear documentation of programs, revisions, and process improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 years of CNC programming experience, with a strong emphasis on 5-axis/multi-axis milling in a precision manufacturing environment.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with Mastercam; additional exposure to Siemens NX or CATIA is a plus.
  • Proficiency in G-code/M-code programming, probing cycles, and in-process inspection strategies.
  • Strong background working with aerospace alloys and advanced materials.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret complex drawings and CAD data, including GD&T.
  • Familiarity with aerospace quality systems and standards (AS9100, FAA, or defense-related compliance).
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt to challenging part geometries and material conditions.
  • Effective communicator who can collaborate across engineering, programming, and shop floor teams.

Preferred Criteria:

  • Certifications in CNC programming/machining (NIMS, FANUC, etc.).
  • Direct experience programming simultaneous 5-axis and probing cycles on Doosan, Haas UMC series, Brother, or comparable platforms.
  • Exposure to lean manufacturing practices and process improvement initiatives.
