Position Title: Mechanical Designer 
Location: Tracy, Ca.
Compensation: $62,400 to $79,040 + Benefits 
Direct Hire – U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency

Established equipment designer and manufacturer supporting the aerospace, automotive, electronics, food and beverage, and heavy industrial sectors. Position Summary: 
Responsible for the development of 2D & 3D technical drawings in SolidWorks, the Mechanical Designer role is a dynamic and integral part of our client’s engineering team. We are conducting conversations for this role immediately.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Translate requirements and conceptual designs into detailed drafting documentation, ensuring accuracy and manufacturability.
  • Utilize SolidWorks to create designs for mechanical components with attention to detail and precision.
  • Prepare Bills of Materials (BOMs) and maintain accurate design files in compliance with company standards.
  • Work with engineering and production teams to ensure designs meet manufacturing requirements and client expectations.
  • Modify and update designs as needed, based on feedback from engineering or production teams.
  • Ensure all documentation adheres to ASME or ISO standards, as applicable.
  • Assist with the preparation of assembly instructions and other technical documentation.

Required Qualifications:

  • AA in drafting or B.S. in Mechanical Engineering
  • OR several years of demonstrated mechanical drafting experience in recent versions of SolidWorks. Any design samples to substantiate ability are welcome!
  • Knowledge of stress/wear management and heavy-duty designs i.e. components for high-stress, high-cycle applications

Experience w/ any of the following is preferred:

  • Experience designing industrial rolling or rotating equipment (shafts, hubs, axle assemblies, bearing housings, conveyor rollers)
  • Or experience designing stamped or formed sheet metal or load-bearing assemblies (mounts, brackets, enclosures, chassis)
  • Or experience designing industrial equipment and/or components that require vibration isolation, smooth motion, or alignment.
  • Or experience designing bolted assemblies, threaded components, or modular equipment
