ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Must file all Electronic Export Information documents required by the Automated Export System of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection and the Census Bureau.
  • Follow and comply with all U.S. export regulations.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the company has complied with all federal rules and standards concerning packaging and shipping.
  • In charge of putting documentation packs together for overseas Shipments and clients, communicate with those program offices and clients concerning their shipments and alert overseas agents in advance of the shipments.
  • Must track the movement of the freight to its final destination and trace the cause of any delays or other problems with the shipment.
  • Verify and keep records of incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Prepare items for shipment which will include: packaging, addressing and shipping the merchandise;
  • Receiving, unpacking, verifying and recording incoming merchandise or material.
  • Determine shipping method for materials using Sale Order information.
  • Route materials to various departments throughout the company.
  • Record shipment data, including weight, charges and space availability.
  • Report damages and discrepancies for accounting, reimbursement and record keeping purposes.
  • Complete shipping and receiving reports.
  • Maintain inventory of shipping supplies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
INTERACTION:

  • Work and communicate effectively with all division employees including but not limited to: Production, Operations, Engineering, Sales, Quality Control, and Management.
REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma required plus 4-7 years of experience.
  • Must have a clean DMV record.
  • Knowledge of international shipping procedures, documentation requirements, procurement principles, and processes.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • The work environment is indoors in a warehouse where safety procedures must always be followed. The noise level is minimal to moderate normally.
