The RF Technician III will perform circuit level RF impedance matching, RF testing, debugging, and RF/power characterization of Company hardware. The RF Technician will read circuit schematics/assembly drawings, and document engineering change orders (ECOs). This position will involve unit mechanical assembly, light soldering, unit calibration and unit automated design verification (DVT) testing/results plotting. The Technician must have a qualitative understanding of RF shielding/interference and RF parametric tests such as EVM, Noise Figure, and Spurious Emissions. Test data compliance to requirements will be assessed. Understanding of Spectrum analyzers, signal generators, network analyzers, and oscilloscopes is a must. Fluency with MS Excel (pivot chart plotting) is essential.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Working closely with senior engineers, performing RF and baseband hardware Design Verification Testing (DVT) on hardware platforms
  • Calibration, validation, and operation of automated RF test stations.
  • Review of DVT automated test data and ability to determine test anomalies/specification failures
  • DVT results documentation and presentation.
  • RF and baseband circuit debugging, impedance matching and parametric measurements.
  • Circuit board component soldering and mechanical unit assembly
  • Other duties as required.

Skills and Abilities

  • Lumped element impedance matching, 1-5GHz.
  • A qualitative understanding of RF chain performance measurements -noise figure, Gain, EVM, ACPR, etc.
  • Understanding RF test equipment operation and measurements – Spectrum/Signal Analyzer, Network Analyzer, Oscilloscope.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Powerpoint
  • Programming in NI Labview, C, or Excel VBA a plus
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and accurate with good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Entrepreneurial, rapid learner, inquisitive, and persistent
  • Analytical reasoning and problem solving.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a design team
  • Understanding circuit board schematics and assembly drawings


  • Associates degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent + 5 years of industry experience.

Test automation programming using NI Labview a plus
