The ideal candidate will be a passionate and self-motivated A/E/C professional with experience that aligns with our services. A background in civil engineering will be very valuable to supporting our services. While all our work includes the planning and design of swimming pools and aquatic features, every project also involves site design responsibilities. These responsibilities include evaluating right of ways, property lines, easements, landscaping, grading plans, utility connections, topographical surveys, and SWIPP permitting. A background in aquatics is not required. The selected candidate will have a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering. Preference is for someone with a Professional Engineer’s license. Additionally, the ideal candidate would have the opportunity to grow into a Project Manager role, and be the main point of contact for assigned projects and work directly with staff, engineers, clients and other project stakeholders. Typical responsibilities as a Project Manager include assigning tasks to design staff, managing deadlines, giving status updates, preparing and assessing budgets, and ensuring all project related inquiries and expectations are met, etc.
What to Expect in the Role
• Assist with the preparation of technical reports, specifications, and construction drawings
• Coordinate design directives from Project Managers to construction drawing production team
• Assist with permitting applications and submissions
• Assist with engineering reports, studies, and designs, utilizing recognized industry standards and regulatory-compliant approaches
• Assist with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling for stormwater analyses and for site development
• Prepare site development plans including layout, grading, drainage, utilities, profiles, and earthwork
• Coordinate and review submittals during construction phase
• Supervise and assist entry level staff
• Balance multiple projects and clients along with managing technical, budgetary and client aspects of projects
• Stay informed on emerging A/E/C technologies, sharing insights to inspire innovation and future opportunities
• Travel to client meetings and/or project sites – approximately once per month
• Assist Project Manager with public engagement event(s) – approximately once per month Required Skills and Experience
• 7+ years of relevant project engineering experience is strongly preferred, with a Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET- Accredited Program
• Self-starter with critical thinking skills and close attention to detail
• Positive attitude with a creative mindset
• Ability to write engineering reports and letters, including analysis, recommendations, and costing
• Ability to coordinate the development of a set of construction documents
• Ability to work with internal and external staff on project development and coordination
• Strong focus on customer needs and approachability
