Title: Operations Manager

Compensation: $95,000-$115,000/hr.

Role Summary:
A long-time client of CalTek Staffing, an established manufacturer of EMI/EMC test equipment for aerospace, defense, and commercial applications, is seeking an Operations Manager with a strong technical or engineering background. This role will oversee plant operations, drive process improvements, manage customer service and support functions, and handle general HR administration. The ideal candidate combines hands-on experience in a technical manufacturing environment with the leadership skills to manage people, processes, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operations & Technical Leadership
- Oversee daily operations of the North Hollywood facility, ensuring efficient production, scheduling, and delivery of specialty EMI/EMC test equipment.
- Collaborate with engineering and lab teams to resolve technical issues, support product builds, and ensure on-time delivery.
- Lead vendor and supplier negotiations to reduce costs and improve service.
- Implement process improvements in order entry, quoting, RMA/repair turnaround, and technical support.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, safety programs, and quality standards.
- Customer Support & Service
- Manage RFQs, quotes, RMA/repairs, warranty claims, and order tracking.
- Serve as the escalation point for customer service and technical support, working closely with engineering and lab staff.
- Maintain strong client relationships across aerospace, defense, and commercial sectors.
- Human Resources & Administration
- Oversee recruiting, onboarding, and offboarding for plant staff.
- Manage payroll, attendance, PTO tracking, and benefits administration
- Maintain personnel files, employee handbook, and company policies.
- Promote a safe, compliant, and positive workplace culture.
- Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related technical discipline (preferred).
- 7+ years of experience in manufacturing or engineering operations, ideally in aerospace, defense, or electronics/communications hardware manufacturing setting.
- Strong understanding of ERP systems, HRIS platforms, and payroll/attendance systems.
- Demonstrated success leading teams in a technical manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of OSHA, safety standards, and HR compliance.
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
