 The Commerce location has an immediate need for an Entry Level Engineering Student Intern to work with our Production Management Team. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to transition into an entry level Manufacturing Engineer position.
Updates machine maintenance log, and management of process changes for the plant.
Supports and promotes safe practices in alignment with company commitments, policies, and compliance requirements
Partners with Production Department to accommodate predictive maintenance activities, minimize downtime and scrap, and provide feedback regarding the status and availability of equipment to Production Manager or Supervisors.
Plans, directs, and coordinates activities concerned with surveys, design, construction, modification, and maintenance of equipment and machinery in plant.
Instructs shop employees with procedures/processes to ensure compliance with standards, practices, and policies, installation, modification, quality control, testing, operating procedure, inspection, and maintenance of equipment, according to engineering principles and safety regulations.
Ensures equipment and facility function as planned to avoid downtime and scrap.
Identifies needs for major equipment repair and replacement, keeping in mind opportunities for improvement in efficiency, costs, environmental stewardship and safety.
Directs execution of capital projects to meet timelines and approved costs.
Partners with Human Resources to ensure consistent application of HR related policies and practices.
Participates in meetings/calls to share information between plants/facilities.
Tests newly installed machines and equipment to ensure fulfillment of contract specifications.
Great communication skills
Bilingual in English & Spanish
Good tech background through related coursework and work experience Proficient in reading engineering drawings and great attention to detail
Proficient with MS word, excel, Vision & MS PowerPoint, CAD modeling and drafting. Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes, planning, machining, welding and heat treat.
