Position Summary:
Our client is seeking an experienced Mill/Lathe Programmer / CNC Supervisor to join their North Carolina team in a direct hire capacity. The ideal candidate will have expertise in programming, setting up, and operating Haas turning and milling machines using Fusion 360 CAM software. Preferred, but not required, is experience with fixture and tooling design in SolidWorks. This role will lead approximately three-to-four CNC set-up/operators and will work to develop department staff, providing training in programming and setup, and overseeing planning and scheduling for the department.
Position Responsibilities/Duties:
- Program and develop CNC paths to fabricate precision parts according to engineering drawings using Fusion 360 CAM
- Set up and operate Haas CNC Lathes and Mills to ensure accurate part production
- Perform preventive maintenance on CNC machinery according to established guidelines
- Interpret Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) specifications to ensure part accuracy
- Use precision measuring instruments, including bore gauges, to verify part quality
- Apply mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and optimize machining processes for efficiency
- Collaborate with engineers and machinists to align on project goals and production standards
- Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment
Skill/Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in CNC setup and operation
- At least 2 years in CAD/CAM programming (Fusion 360 preferred)
- Experience with Haas CNC Mills and Lathes is highly preferred
- Knowledge in fixture and tooling design with SolidWorks is a plus
- Proficiency with precision measuring instruments and bore gauges
- Strong understanding of GD&T principles and the ability to work with tight tolerances and complex geometries
- Excellent mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting skills to support optimized machine operation
