CAD Designer Job Description
The right candidate will be responsible for the design and development of product, component packaging, bracketry, weldments, NX cad models and drawings.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Work with the design engineers to develop the detailed design of integrated systems to meet customer expectations.
Create production drawings to ASME and automotive standards and follow the documented release procedures for issuing the drawings to production/procurement.
Support component selection, specification generation, sourcing, and vendor communication.
Perform changes to existing drawings.
Generate and maintain engineering Bill of Materials for development projects.
Adopt and implement the Quality Assurance Procedures-QAP and Departmental Work Instructions-DWI, identified in QEMS Employee Training Matrix located on the LAN.
Engineering Design and Drafting Certificate or a minimum of 5 years experience in design drafting
NX user, NX sheet metal, and NX drafting
Modeling courses (CAD)
Knowledge of ASME Y14.5M-1994
Application of GD & T
Knowledge of welding and manufacturing processes
A minimum of 5 years in product design.
Knowledge of change processes.
Physical Job Requirements:
This is primarily a sedentary office position with employee working in a controlled office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use their hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and telephone keypad or to write, as well as talk and hear. They are occasionally required to stand, walk or sit, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to focus. This position involves occasionally lifting, up to 50 pounds.
