Compensation: $75k-$100k

The Rancho Santa Margarita facility specializes in the production of extremely small, high-precision machined components utilizing advanced Swiss-style CNC machining, precision metrology, and highly automated manufacturing processes. This is a clean, engineering-driven manufacturing environment where equipment reliability, process stability, and continuous improvement are critical to success.

Position Summary

We are seeking an Equipment Maintenance Technician to support manufacturing operations within a highly automated precision machining environment.

This position is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and improving production equipment used in the manufacture of close-tolerance machined components. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, hands-on maintenance experience in a CNC machining or manufacturing environment, and a proactive approach toward equipment reliability and preventive maintenance.

This role supports a newer swing-shift operation and works closely with manufacturing, engineering, quality, and day-shift maintenance personnel to ensure equipment uptime and production goals are achieved.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment and support systems
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electromechanical equipment issues
  • Diagnose and repair CNC machine tool problems involving controls, drives, sensors, motors, lubrication systems, and auxiliary equipment
  • Perform machine alignments, adjustments, calibration activities, and routine machine health checks
  • Support equipment installations, upgrades, retrofits, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Respond to equipment downtime events and independently determine corrective actions
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, PM documentation, and repair logs
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to improve equipment reliability and process stability
  • Utilize precision measurement equipment and diagnostic tools to verify equipment performance
  • Support fabrication and modification of fixtures, guards, brackets, and machine improvements when required
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and professional work environment
  • Preferred Equipment Experience

Experience maintaining one or more of the following is highly desired:

  • CNC Swiss lathes
  • CNC turning centers
  • FANUC-controlled machine tools
  • Precision machining equipment
  • Automated manufacturing systems
  • Pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Inspection and metrology equipment
  • Cleanroom or high-precision manufacturing equipment

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of manufacturing equipment maintenance experience
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Experience supporting CNC machining environments preferred
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings, schematics, and maintenance documentation
  • Experience performing preventative maintenance and root cause troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with FANUC-controlled equipment is highly desirable
  • Welding, fabrication, machining, or machine shop experience is a plus
  • Associate degree, technical certification, military technical training, or equivalent hands-on experience preferred
