Job summary
Under limited daily supervision, perform component level inspection on complex printed circuit boards. Use microscope to inspect and identify assembly defects. Use visual aids, verbal and written instructions to inspect assemblies to IPC standards. Provide input to Assembly personnel to improve quality and efficiency.
Summary of essential job functions
- Identify quality defects per IPC-A-610 and communicate findings with SMT operator and management.
- Maintain records of all quality inspections and rework performed.
- Assure proper routing of inspected assemblies.
- Inspect PCB assemblies using Automated Optical Inspection Machine (AOI).
Other duties and responsibilities
- Through-hole and SMD touch up capability
- Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources
- Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum requirements
- Familiar with IPC 610 standards
- High School Diploma or equivalent GED
- 3 years of experience in electronics manufacturing
- Ability to work under a microscope for 6-8 hours daily
- Intermediate Microsoft Office Skills (Excel, Word, Email, Internet)
Abilities required
- Identify component values, and orientation using assembly documentation
- Be able to perform light physical activity performing non-strenuous daily activities of a productive/technical nature
- Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items, works with the fingers, and perceive attributes of objects and materials
- Must have knowledge of electronic components, industry acceptable inspection and soldering standards, & ESD awareness
- Must be a team player; drive continuous improvement, and willing to assist in other areas of manufacturing as needed.
