About the Role
We are seeking a Reliability Engineer to own and drive product reliability across cutting-edge thermal solutions deployed in demanding environments—from consumer devices to high-performance data centers.
This role is highly cross-functional and hands-on, focused on ensuring robust design validation, long-term durability, and field reliability. You will play a critical role in identifying failure mechanisms, validating design margins, and influencing product architecture early in the development cycle.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the development and execution of comprehensive reliability test strategies (ALT, HALT/HASS, environmental, mechanical, and thermal stress testing)
- Design and analyze accelerated life tests to predict product lifetime and failure modes
- Perform deep-dive failure analysis using structured methodologies (FMEA, Fault Tree, Fishbone, 8D)
- Drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to improve product robustness and manufacturing yield
- Partner with design, materials, process, and manufacturing teams to influence reliability at the design stage
- Own reliability metrics including MTTF, FIT rates, Weibull analysis, and failure rate modeling
- Define and validate reliability requirements for new product introductions (NPI)
- Evaluate components, materials, and suppliers through qualification and validation testing
- Generate clear, data-driven technical reports and executive-level summaries
- Support customer-driven reliability validation and compliance testing
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in reliability engineering, product validation, or failure analysis
- Strong foundation in reliability physics, failure mechanisms, and statistical analysis
- Hands-on experience with environmental chambers, vibration/shock testing, thermal cycling, or pressure testing
- Experience with HALT/HASS or accelerated life testing methodologies
- Proficiency with data analysis tools ( Minitab, JMP, Excel, or similar)
- Ability to translate data into actionable engineering insights
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work across engineering disciplines
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree (MS/PhD) in a relevant engineering discipline
- Experience in thermal systems, liquid cooling, data center hardware, semiconductors, or consumer electronics
- Familiarity with industry standards ( JEDEC, IEC, MIL-STD, ASTM)
- Experience with Design of Experiments (DOE) and statistical modeling
- Background in materials reliability, fluid systems, or electromechanical systems
What Sets You Apart
- Systems-level thinking with the ability to connect design decisions to long-term reliability outcomes
- Strong bias toward root cause over symptom mitigation
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment
- Ownership mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and product excellence
Compensation & Work Environment
- Base Salary: $110,000 – $180,000
- Total Compensation: Includes equity (stock options) and annual bonus
- Work Model: Onsite
- Eligibility: Must be authorized to work in the United States
Why This Role Matters
Thermal constraints are the bottleneck of modern computing performance. In this role, your work directly impacts how far—and how fast—next-generation systems can go. You won’t just validate reliability—you’ll help define it.
