Work Hours: Mon-Thurs 6 AM to 3 PM, Friday 6 AM to Noon.
REPORTS TO: LATHE SUPERVISOR
POSITION SUMMARY:
Engaged in production machining of metallic or nonmetallic work pieces, applying knowledge of machine shop procedures, machine tool setup and operating techniques, and production machining methods:
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Verifies work orders for accuracy. Check prints to work orders to insure part number, revision number, material, etc. match. Also verifies material pulled for job is correct type and amount needed for the job.

Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product, and suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.

Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.

Maintains time and production records.

Estimates, requisitions, and inspects materials prior to set-up.

Sets up machines and equipment to run jobs, including tooling offsets

May be required to follow other job-related instructions and to perform other job-related duties as requested. Essential job functions can and will be updated as needed.
JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Physical Demands: The employee is required to stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend to the floor, exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or exert 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or exert up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
Visual Acuity: Near acuity and accommodation are required for reading machine dial gauges, blueprints, and precision measuring instruments used in the inspection of parts.
Hearing Ability: Ability to monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose changes in order to take appropriate action.
Working Conditions: The Machinist/Operator is subject to: high noise levels from operating machines, physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts, dust and mist skin exposure to oils and cutting fluid
SPECIFIC CAPABILITIES:

Self- Motivated, with a willingness to learn new skills

Experience with MasterCAM versions X and 2019 a plus

Ability to read blue prints, G-codes and make edits fluently

Full knowledge of machining applications, tooling and inspection criteria

Minimum 3 yrs experience, proficient at programming and setting up machines

CNC Lathe setup to run Nakamura Slants, SC-300M and AS-200L with milling. Lathes have
FANUC controls
