Position Title: Punch Press Operator

Type: Temp to Permanent or Direct Hire (Depends on Experience)

Compensation : $20-$24/hr. + Health, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, PTO, & Paid Sick Leave


Company/Position Summary:

Our aerospace/defense precision manufacturing client in Whittier, Ca. is seeking an experienced Punch Press Operator to join their stamping department focused on turning out electric motor components to tolerances of +/- 0.001 or better. This is a full-time role resulting in full benefits and long-term employment, which makes it an excellent opportunity for skilled operators who thrive in dynamic production environments and have strong attention to detail with solid mechanical aptitude.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain punch press equipment to ensure the production of high-precision parts in compliance with strict quality standards.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on punch presses and associated machinery.
  • Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders to configure and adjust machinery for optimal operation.
  • Install and align dies in press machines following precise specifications.
  • Perform in-process inspections using precision measurement tools, ensuring production tolerances meet requirements of +/- .001 inches.
  • Make necessary adjustments during production to ensure first-piece inspections and ongoing quality control.
  • Accurately log production data, including part counts, scrap counts, time entries, and job notes in the company’s system.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized workspace.

Qualifications/Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • A minimum of 1-2 year(s) of experience in a precision manufacturing environment, preferably a machine operation role.
  • Decent mathematical skills, including the ability to perform basic arithmetic functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions and solve basic operational issues.

Work Schedule:

  • Full-time, 8-hour shifts, on-site.
