Job Summary:
As a CNC Machinist, you will be at the forefront of aerospace manufacturing, utilizing cutting-edge CNC technology to produce high-precision components. In our dynamic aerospace production environment, you will handle various materials including metal, composite, and graphite, ensuring the highest quality standards are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Machine Setup and Operation: Skillfully set up and operate CNC Mills, proficient in using Fanuc and Siemens Controllers across 3 and 5-axis machines.
- Tooling Selection and Mounting: Choose and securely mount appropriate tooling for diverse machining operations.
- Optimization of Machining Processes: Determine optimal feed and speed settings for efficient and precise machining.
- Precision Machining: Execute various operations including cut-off, trimming, countersinking, and drilling.
- Quality Assurance: Utilize instruments like calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure dimensional accuracy of parts.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Read and understand technical drawings and blueprints to accurately fulfill machining requirements.
- Technical Skills: Apply shop math for precise calculations and effectively transfer files from computers to numeric controllers.
- Machine Maintenance: Conduct routine checks and maintenance of machines to ensure smooth operation and longevity.
- Safety and Compliance: Strict adherence to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a secure working environment.
- Team Collaboration: Work alongside team members to achieve production goals within set timelines.
- Problem-solving: Identify and communicate machine performance issues or product quality concerns.
- Documentation: Maintain thorough records of machining operations, including production logs and inspection reports.
- Continuous Learning: Stay abreast with the latest machining techniques and industry trends.
- Independent Working: Manage tasks independently, prioritizing for efficient completion.
- Quality Inspection: Inspect finished parts for any defects or deviations from standards.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- At least 5 years of experience in CNC machining.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical diagrams and instructions.
- Exceptional manual dexterity and precision.
- Strong communication skills in English.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- A willingness to adhere to union regulations.
- Commitment to quality and detail-oriented work.
- Self-motivation and capability to operate with minimal supervision.
