Machine Learning Engineer

How you'll contribute

• Design and implement machine learning based algorithms that determine a wide variety of biometrics (e.g. sleep stages, HRV), detect medical conditions, and programmatically optimize our users' sleep.

• Collaborate with Product Managers and Data Scientists to identify opportunities to impact Eight Sleep customers, and plan Client strategy.

• Orchestrate large scale machine learning data pipelines (experience with Prefect, Airlflow, Luigi, or similar framework will be helpful). 

• Create batch jobs (SQL, pandas / Dask, Spark) that process large scale datasets–E.g. featurization, statistical analyses, extracting insights, etc.  

• Create production services that serve Client predictions.

What you'll need to succeed 

• 5+ years of software engineering experience

• High standards for code quality–i.e. you apply principles of clean code and prioritize testing.

• 4+ of experience working in Python

• Strong experience with Pytorch (or an equivalent deep learning framework), and a general Client toolkit: e.g. numpy, pandas, sklearn, xgboost, H20, etc.

• Experience creating low latency production Client systems.

• Masters Degree or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or 4+ years functioning as a machine learning engineer.  

Nice to haves:

• Experience building casual models.

• Experience conducting A/B tests / randomized trials.
