Our client is a leading production and operations company supporting Atlanta’s rapidly expanding industrial sector, including food & beverage plants, packaging facilities, consumer‑goods manufacturers, and large‑scale distribution operations. Their maintenance team ensures safe, reliable, and efficient operation of production lines and facility equipment.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production‑line equipment including conveyors, fillers, mixers, ovens, packaging machinery, and automated systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Diagnose mechanical failures, replace worn components, and perform equipment rebuilds.
  • Perform basic electrical troubleshooting including motors, sensors, relays, and control‑panel checks.
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and equipment manuals.
  • Perform mechanical repairs including bearings, belts, chains, couplings, alignment, and lubrication.
  • Support equipment changeovers, setups, and line adjustments to meet production schedules.
  • Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and system modifications.
  • Perform welding, fabrication, and basic machining for equipment repair and modification.
  • Document maintenance activities, parts usage, and equipment performance in CMMS systems.
  • Collaborate with production teams to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, and Georgia industrial safety regulations.
  • Participate in root‑cause analysis and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain clean, safe work areas and follow all company safety protocols.
  • Participate in on‑call rotation for after‑hours emergencies.

Education

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Technical school training in Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Technology, or related field preferred.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 3–7+ years of experience as a Production Maintenance Technician, Maintenance Mechanic, or Industrial Maintenance Technician.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills with production‑line machinery.
  • Experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Basic to intermediate electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals.
  • Strong understanding of OSHA safety standards and industrial best practices.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in food & beverage processing, packaging, or high‑volume consumer‑goods manufacturing.
  • Experience with automation equipment, sensors, and VFDs.
  • Familiarity with PLCs (Allen‑Bradley, Siemens) and industrial controls.
  • Experience with CMMS systems for work orders and preventive maintenance.
  • Certifications such as OSHA 30, NFPA 70E, or industrial maintenance credentials.
  • Background in robotics, automation, or advanced manufacturing equipment.
