Typical Duties and Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production‑line equipment including conveyors, fillers, mixers, ovens, packaging machinery, and automated systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Diagnose mechanical failures, replace worn components, and perform equipment rebuilds.
- Perform basic electrical troubleshooting including motors, sensors, relays, and control‑panel checks.
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and equipment manuals.
- Perform mechanical repairs including bearings, belts, chains, couplings, alignment, and lubrication.
- Support equipment changeovers, setups, and line adjustments to meet production schedules.
- Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and system modifications.
- Perform welding, fabrication, and basic machining for equipment repair and modification.
- Document maintenance activities, parts usage, and equipment performance in CMMS systems.
- Collaborate with production teams to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, and Georgia industrial safety regulations.
- Participate in root‑cause analysis and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
- Maintain clean, safe work areas and follow all company safety protocols.
- Participate in on‑call rotation for after‑hours emergencies.
Education
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Technical school training in Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Technology, or related field preferred.
Required Skills and Experience
- 3–7+ years of experience as a Production Maintenance Technician, Maintenance Mechanic, or Industrial Maintenance Technician.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills with production‑line machinery.
- Experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Basic to intermediate electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals.
- Strong understanding of OSHA safety standards and industrial best practices.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in food & beverage processing, packaging, or high‑volume consumer‑goods manufacturing.
- Experience with automation equipment, sensors, and VFDs.
- Familiarity with PLCs (Allen‑Bradley, Siemens) and industrial controls.
- Experience with CMMS systems for work orders and preventive maintenance.
- Certifications such as OSHA 30, NFPA 70E, or industrial maintenance credentials.
- Background in robotics, automation, or advanced manufacturing equipment.
