We are a Los Angeles, CA manufacturing and engineering staffing agency specializing in recruiting Plant Maintenance Technicians for aerospace, defense, precision machining, composites, and high‑reliability manufacturing environments.

Our client is a leading aerospace and defense manufacturer supporting programs in aircraft structures, propulsion systems, avionics, space hardware, and mission‑critical defense components. Their maintenance team ensures maximum uptime, reliability, and safety across production machinery, facility systems, and specialized aerospace‑grade equipment.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain aerospace‑grade production equipment including CNC machines, autoclaves, ovens, vacuum systems, presses, and composite‑processing equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems used in precision manufacturing.
  • Diagnose mechanical failures, replace worn components, and perform equipment rebuilds to aerospace‑quality standards.
  • Support maintenance of cleanroom equipment, environmental chambers, and controlled‑process systems.
  • Perform basic electrical troubleshooting including motor wiring, sensors, relays, and control‑panel checks.
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, aerospace equipment manuals, and technical schematics.
  • Perform mechanical repairs including bearings, belts, chains, couplings, alignment, lubrication, and precision adjustments.
  • Assist with installation, calibration, and qualification of aerospace manufacturing equipment.
  • Perform welding, fabrication, and basic machining for equipment repair and modification.
  • Document maintenance activities, parts usage, and equipment performance in CMMS systems for audit‑ready traceability.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to minimize downtime and maintain process integrity.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, ITAR, AS9100, and California industrial safety regulations.
  • Support root‑cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain clean, safe work areas and follow all company safety protocols.
  • Participate in on‑call rotation for after‑hours emergencies.

Education

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Technical school training in Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Technology, or related field preferred.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years of experience as a Plant Maintenance Technician, Maintenance Mechanic, or Industrial Maintenance Technician in aerospace, defense, or precision manufacturing.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills with CNC machines, autoclaves, ovens, and high‑precision production equipment.
  • Experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Basic to intermediate electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and mechanical diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and aerospace equipment documentation.
  • Strong understanding of OSHA safety standards and California regulatory requirements.
  • Experience working in AS9100 or other high‑reliability manufacturing environments.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in aircraft structures, composites, propulsion systems, or defense‑hardware manufacturing.
  • Experience with CNC maintenance (mills, lathes, routers, grinders).
  • Familiarity with PLCs (Allen‑Bradley, Siemens) and automation equipment.
  • Certifications such as OSHA 30, NFPA 70E, CMRT, or aerospace‑maintenance credentials.
  • Experience with CMMS systems for work orders and preventive maintenance.
  • Background in cleanroom operations, vacuum systems, or environmental‑control equipment.
