We are an Atlanta, GA manufacturing and logistics staffing agency specializing in recruiting Material Handlers for distribution centers, food processing plants, packaging facilities, and high‑volume consumer‑goods manufacturing environments.

Our client is a leading production and logistics company supporting Atlanta’s rapidly expanding industrial sector, including large distribution hubs, food & beverage operations, packaging lines, and high‑volume manufacturing facilities. Their material‑handling team ensures efficient movement of raw materials, finished goods, and production supplies throughout the facility.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

  • Load, unload, move, and stage materials using pallet jacks, forklifts, and other material‑handling equipment.
  • Supply production lines with raw materials, packaging supplies, and components.
  • Receive incoming shipments, verify quantities, and inspect materials for damage.
  • Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment according to company standards.
  • Maintain accurate inventory counts and update records in warehouse or ERP systems.
  • Organize storage areas, rotate stock, and ensure proper labeling and identification.
  • Assist with cycle counts, inventory audits, and material‑tracking activities.
  • Follow safety procedures for lifting, stacking, and equipment operation.
  • Collaborate with production, warehouse, and logistics teams to ensure timely material flow.
  • Operate forklifts, reach trucks, or order pickers (if certified).
  • Maintain clean, organized work areas and follow all company safety protocols.
  • Report damaged materials, equipment issues, or inventory discrepancies to supervisors.

Education

  • High school diploma or GED required

Required Skills and Experience

  • 2–5+ years of experience as a Material Handler, Warehouse Associate, or Production Support Worker.
  • Experience operating pallet jacks, forklifts, or other material‑handling equipment.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical tasks throughout the shift.
  • Basic computer skills for inventory entry and material tracking.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in counting and documentation.
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders, labels, and inventory sheets.
  • Understanding of warehouse safety standards and best practices.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work in fast‑paced environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Forklift certification (sit‑down, stand‑up, reach truck).
  • Experience in food & beverage, packaging, or high‑volume distribution environments.
  • Experience with ERP or WMS systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Manhattan, etc.).
  • Experience with RF scanners or barcode systems.
  • Knowledge of FIFO/FEFO inventory rotation.
