Their sales engineering team partners with facility managers, engineers, general contractors, and industrial clients to deliver engineered HVAC solutions including central plant upgrades, VRF/VRV systems, chilled‑water systems, rooftop units, precision cooling, and energy‑efficient mechanical retrofits. Typical Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage relationships with commercial, industrial, and mission‑critical clients across the DFW region.
  • Provide engineered HVAC solutions including VRF/VRV systems, chillers, boilers, RTUs, AHUs, and central plant upgrades.
  • Conduct site assessments, gather technical requirements, and collaborate with engineering teams to develop system designs.
  • Prepare proposals, estimates, equipment selections, and technical presentations for clients and project stakeholders.
  • Work closely with mechanical engineers, project managers, and installation teams to ensure accurate scope development.
  • Identify opportunities for energy‑efficiency upgrades, retrofits, and high‑performance HVAC solutions.
  • Support design‑build projects, conceptual budgeting, and value‑engineering alternatives.
  • Review mechanical drawings, specifications, and submittals to ensure alignment with client needs.
  • Manage the full sales cycle including lead generation, qualification, proposal development, negotiation, and closing.
  • Collaborate with OEMs, vendors, and suppliers to obtain pricing, technical data, and product recommendations.
  • Track project opportunities using CRM tools and maintain accurate sales forecasts.
  • Attend client meetings, industry events, and technical presentations to promote company capabilities.
  • Ensure compliance with ASHRAE standards, IMC, IECC, and Texas mechanical codes.
  • Provide post‑sale support including project handoff, technical clarification, and customer follow‑up.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of HVAC technologies, mechanical systems, and emerging industry innovations.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Engineering, or related technical field preferred.
  • Equivalent experience in HVAC sales engineering or mechanical systems may be considered.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 7+ years of experience in HVAC sales engineering, mechanical system sales, or technical solution selling.
  • Strong understanding of commercial HVAC systems including VRF/VRV, chillers, boilers, RTUs, and air distribution systems.
  • Experience selling into commercial buildings, industrial facilities, or mission‑critical environments.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and engineering documents.
  • Strong knowledge of ASHRAE standards, IMC, IECC, and Texas mechanical codes.
  • Proficiency with HVAC design tools, load calculations, and equipment selection.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and client‑relationship skills.
  • Strong negotiation, proposal writing, and technical sales abilities.
  • Experience working with OEMs such as Trane, Carrier, Daikin, Lennox, and Mitsubishi.
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms and sales‑tracking tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with chilled‑water plants, hydronic systems, and large‑tonnage equipment.
  • Background in industrial HVAC, manufacturing facilities, or mission‑critical cooling.
  • Professional certifications such as LEED AP, CEM, or engineering licensure (EIT/PE).
  • Experience with energy‑efficiency programs, utility incentives, and Texas energy codes.
  • Familiarity with BAS platforms such as Tridium Niagara, Metasys, Siemens Desigo, or EcoStruxure.
  • Strong network within the Dallas–Fort Worth mechanical engineering and construction community.
